In 1993 the 69th Motorised Rifle Regiment was renamed 169th Tank Regiment.

14.12.94 to 9.4.95 the 81st Guards Motorised Rifle Regiment was deployed to Chechnya.

12.97 renamed 5968th Guards Weapons and Equipment Storage Base - the 81st Guards Motorised Rifle Regiment was transferred to the 27th Guards Motorised Rifle Division.
