Formed 15.12.39 in Wien-Schwechat as Jagdfliegerschule Wien-Schwechat with 3 staffeln. On 15.1.40 redesignated Jagdfliegerschule 5.

4./JFS5 was formed 1.7.41 in Le Havre-Octeville from the Jabo-Lehrgang/JFS5 with Bf 109E-7 (Olt Fülbert Zink), and was intended to support JG2 and JG26 for the defence of France. Received the first Bf 109F-2 in 10.41. Officially attached to JG2, and on 1.4.42 disbanded. During its 9 month service, the unit had about 80 victories, incl. 17 by Olt. Zink. Based at Le Havre-Octeville 7.41-3.42 under Stab/JG2.

5./JFS5 was formed 3.10.41 in Bernay (Jagdlehrerstaffel) under Olt. Karl-Heinz Schnell. On 1.9.42 redesignated Jagdlehrerüberprüfungsstelle

On 27.1.43 redesignated JG105:

Stab/JFS5 became Stab/JG105
1./JFS5 became 1./JG105
2./JFS5 became 2./JG105
3./JFS5 became 3./JG105

Used the following aircraft: Ar 96, Ar 66, Ar 68, Ar 96, Bf 108, Bf 109, Bü 131, Bü 133, C.445, D.520, Fw 190 and MS.406

Bases:

* 2./JFS5 at Parndorf (1.40 - 30.5.41), Guyancourt (1.6.41 - 11.42), Bernay (11.42 - 2.43) and Paris-Orly (2.43 - 24.2.43)

* 3./JFS5 at Toussus le Noble (27.5.41 - 10.42); 4./JFS5 was at Le Havre-Octeville during its existence (7.41 - 30.4.42).

* 5./JFS5 at Bernay (10.41 - 8.42), Villacoublay-Nord (8.42 - 8.42) and Orleans-Bricy (8.42 - 30.8.42).
