Activated 5.2.80 at Smorgon, Grodno Oblast, under the 32nd Missile Division, from the 428th Guards Missile Regiment (2nd Battalion).

The regiment consisted of 3 battalions with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-K (15P645K) (SS-20) missiles.

The regiment went on alert duty 12.12.80 with 9 RSD-10 Pioner (15P645K) (SS-20) missiles, but exhanged missiles with the 170th Missile Regiment on 20.8.81, while remaining on alert duty, now with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-UTTKh (15P653) (SS-20) missiles.

The regiment stood down 1990, and was disbanded 1990.
