Re-activated 27.1.82  in Leninsk, Kzyl-Orda Oblast, as the 5th Scientific Experimental Department (5th NIU), under the Baikonur Test Center (5th NIIP).

• independent operational technical battalion (military unit: 29526) - for water supply, heat supply and canalization
