Activated 1985 in Arkhangelskoye, Moscow Oblast.

Equipped with the S-300PS (SA-10) in three independent battalions:

• 1st independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (Smolino, Moscow Oblast)
• 2nd independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion and HQ (Arkhangelskoye, Moscow Oblast)
• 3rd independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (Nesterovo, Moscow Oblast)

All three battalions were co-located with S-300PT battalions of the 791st and 662nd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiments.

1998 reduced to a mobilisation (cadre) regiment - the personnel was demobilised, and the equipment withdrawn to a central storage base.

Disbanded 2009.
