Activated 1.2.53 in Litvinovo, Moscow Oblast - initially as the 1935th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment for Special Use and from 1955 as the 610th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment for Special Use.

1953 to 1988 equipped with 60 S-25 (SA-1) launchers:

• Launch area: 56 07 56N, 37 11 23E (US designation: Moscow SAM site C33-1)
• Support area: 56 07 52N, 37 12 45E
• Guidance area: 56 06 56N, 37 12 25E

1988 converted to the S-300PT (from 1990: S-300PM) (SA-10), and was reduced to an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion of the 584th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
