Formed 4.40 in Luftgau III with 1. - 5. Batterien. Until 7.42 known as Res.Flak-Abt. 513.

Reorganised as a schwere Abteilung in mid-42:

4./Res.513 became 2./783, and was reformed
5./Res.513 became 3./783

5. and 6./s.513 was formed in 10.44 (6. from s.Flak-Bttr.zbV 5587 [RAD]).

Lost all its batteries 12.44:

1./s.513 became 8./616
2./s.513 became 9./323
3./s.513 became 9./616
4./s.513 became 10./323
5./s.513 became 9./211
6./s.513 became 10./211
