Formed 26.8.39 in Dresden from parts of II./Flak-Regiment 23 with 4 Batterien (1. - 3. schwere, 4. leichte). Until 7.42 known as Res.Flak-Abt. 234.
5./Res.234 was formed in 12.39(?).
In mid-1941 4./Res.234 became 5./641, and was reformed from Fla-MG-Res.Kp. 1.
Reorganised as a schwere Abteilung in 1943:
3./gem.234 became s.Flak-Bttr.zbV 1509, and was reformed from 5./gem.234
5./gem.234 became 3./s.234 (see above)5. - 8./s.234 was formed in late 1943 (5. was a RAD Batterie).
