Activated 1.1.53 in Dubki, Moscow Oblast - initially as the 1980th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment for Special Use and from 1955 as the 799th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment for Special Use.

1953 to 1985 equipped with 60 S-25 (SA-1) launchers:

• Launch area: 56 07 34N, 38 43 04E (US designation: Moscow SAM site E06-1)
• Support area: 56 06 43N, 38 42 37E
• Guidance area: 56 06 53N, 38 41 07E

1985 converted to the S-300PS (SA-10) with two independent battalions:

• 1st independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (Taratino, Moscow Oblast)
• 2nd independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion and HQ (Dubki, Moscow Oblast)

Both battalions were co-located with S-300PT battalions of the 674th and 654th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiments.

1998 reduced to a mobilisation (cadre) regiment - the personnel was demobilised, and the equipment withdrawn to a central storage base.

Disbanded 2009.
