Activated 1959 in Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast, as the 765th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, from the 507th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment.
Organisation 1960's:
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (57 53 33N, 59 36 29E) with S-75 (SA-2) missiles
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (58 05 30N, 59 55 26E) with S-75 (SA-2) missiles (US designation: SAM site B36-2)
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (58 04 38N, 61 00 52E) with S-75 (SA-2) missiles (US designation: SAM site B12-2)
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (57 43 05N, 60 30 45E) with S-75 (SA-2) missiles (US designation: SAM site C13-2)
Technical Battalion
1967 renamed 63rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.
In 1967 an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Group with 3 launch S-200 (SA-5) battalions were added to the brigade:
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (58 05 54N, 60 54 15E) with 6 S-200 (SA-5) launchers
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (58 05 53N, 60 53 42E) with 6 S-200 (SA-5) launchers
Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion (58 06 06N, 60 53 54E) with 6 S-200 (SA-5) launchers
Technical Battalion (support area: 58 06 15N, 60 53 12E - guidance & tracking area: 58 05 31N, 60 53 56E)
Began conversion to the S-300PS (SA-10) in 1993, but this was never completed.
Disbanded 1994.
