Activated in Khoteichi, Moscow Oblast - initially as the 0000 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment for Special Use and from 1955 as the 636th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment for Special Use.

1953 to 1984 equipped with 60 S-25 (SA-1) launchers:

• Launch area: 55 28 38N, 38 49 26E (US designation: Moscow SAM site E12-1)
• Support area: 55 29 35N, 38 48 02E
• Guidance area: 55 29 07N, 38 47 12E

1984 converted to the S-300PT (SA-10), and was reduced to an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion of the 756th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
