Activated 1953 in Voskresenskoye, Moscow Oblast - initially as the 1975th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment for Special Use and from 1955 as the 578th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment for Special Use.

1953 to 1988 equipped with 60 S-25 (SA-1) launchers:

• Launch area: 55 55 21N, 38 20 00E (US designation: Moscow SAM site C07-1)
• Support area: 55 55 09N, 38 17 58E
• Guidance area: 55 54 49N, 38 17 51E

1981 reduced to a mobilisation (cadre) regiment - the personnel was demobilised, and the equipment withdrawn to a central storage base.

Disbanded 1988.
