Activated 5.60 in Bolshoye Ozerko, Murmansk Oblast, as the 517th
Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, from the 517th Guards Anti-Aircraft
Artillery Regiment.
Intially with 4 S-75 (SA-2) battalions.
1967 absorbed the 000 Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, took over
it's Red Banner award, and was renamed 116th Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile
Brigade.
1967 took over two S-125 (SA-3) battalions from the 000
Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, while three new S-125 battalions were activated.
