Activated 1945 as the Naval Academy for Shipbuilding and Armaments imeni A.N. Krylov, from the Naval Academy imeni K.E. Voroshilov (origins goes all the way back to 1827).

The order of Lenin had been awarded in 1944 to the Naval Academy imeni K.E. Voroshilov.

In 1960 the name A.N. Krylov was dropped.

22.2.68 awarded the order of Ushakov.

1976 named "imeni Marshal of the Soviet Union A.A. Grechko".

7.2.77 awarded the order of the October Revolution.

1990 renamed Naval orders of Lenin, the October Revolution and Ushakov Academy imeni Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N.G. Kuznetsov.
