19.7.56 the 169th independent Reconnaissance Ship Battalion (military unit: 49226) was activated, attached to the independent Sea Radio-Technical Battalion for Special Operations.

1.10.59 the 525th independent Sea Radio-Technical Battalion for Special Operations was renamed the 19th Sea Reconaissance Radio-Technical Force.

9.5.65 renamed 19th Sea Reconaissance Radio-Technical Force for Special Operations.

1.10.69 the 19th Sea Reconaissance Radio-Technical Force for Special Operations and the 169th independent Reconnaissance Ship Battalion was united as the 38th Reconnaissance Ship Brigade.
