Activated 2.60 in Kozmino, Primorskiy Kray.
May/June 1960 sailed to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka - arrived at base 16.7.60, and conducted first missile launch 1.11.60.
Organised into 2 battalions with the 4K87 Solka (NATO: SSC-2B Samlet).
From 10.65 the 524th independent Tower Artillery Battalion (two twin 180mm MB-2-180) and the 559th independent Coastal Artillery Battalion (four 130mm SM-4-1) became attached to the regiment.
In 6.71 began conversion to the 4K44B Redut (SSC-1 Sepal), which was completed in 1972.
In 1984 one battalion converted to the 4K40 Rubezh (SSC-3 Styx) missile.
Firing positions was in the area around 52 57 23N, 158 45 38E.
In 2.92 renamed 520th independent Coastal Missile and Artillery Brigade.
