17.4.61 transferred from Army control (SV) to the Air Defense Forces (PVO).

Combat training and live fire of all surface-to-air missiles (SAM) used by the Air Defense Forces (PVO), on the Ashuluk Range.

Equipment were stored at the base (S-75, S-125, S-200 and S-300) to minimize transport to and from the training range.

• two S-200V sites at 47 23 49N, 48 07 55E - reduced in the 1990's to 2 x 3 launchers
• several S-75 and S-125 sites at 47 25 24N, 48 02 58E - mostly used for S-300 and S-400 tests today
