592nd Missile Regiment

Activated 6.60 in Kostroma, Kostroma Oblast, under the 165th Missile Brigade, and from 5.61 the 10th Guards Missile Division.

1963 with three battalions at 3 sites:

• 1st Battalion - BSP-12 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 12.2.62
• 2nd Battalion - BSP-22 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 10.63 (estimate)
• 3rd Battalion - BSP-23 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 2.64 (estimate)

In March 1964 all battalions were upgraded to regiments:

• 1st Battalion remained as 592nd Missile Regiment, with 2 R-16 pads (BSP-12)
• 2nd Battalion became 314th Missile Regiment with 2 R-16 pads (BSP-22)
• 3rd Battalion became 105th Missile Regiment with 2 R-16 pads (BSP-23)

In 1969 the BSP-1 and BSP-13 sites were transferred to the 592nd Missile Regiment, now with:

• site BSP-1 with 2 R-16 pads
• site BSP-12 with 2 R-16 pads
• site BSP-13 with 2 R-16 pads

The regiment stood down and was disbanded 13.2.75
