Activated 18.7.60 at Lapichi, Mogilev Oblast, under the 33rd Guards Missile Division.

Early 1961 to Gomel (Borshchovka), Gomel Oblast.

Organisation:

The 2nd battalion stood down in 1971 (four R-12 pads), followed by the 1st battalion in 1978 (four R-12 pads).

The regiment went on alert duty 30.11.79 with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-K (15P645K) (SS-20) missiles (one battalion operational 6.79).

10.85 reduced to two battalions, now with 6 15P645K missiles.

In November 1979 the regimental HQ was transferred to Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast.

The regiment stood down 1989, and began conversion to RT-2PM (15P158) (SS-25) missile - alert duty from 1989 with 9 missiles.

The regiment stood down in 1994, and the missiles were transferred to a regiment in Russia - disbanded 9.95.

US designation 1960-1978: Gomel MRBM complex (Borkhov launch sites 1 and 2). Type II (pad) sites.

Two alternative fixed field sites for the pad launchers, were set up at Gomel (site 1: 52 20 41N, 30 50 58E and site 2: 52 20 30N, 30 50 30E).
