Activated 24.6.60 in Postavy, Vitebsk oblast, under the 32nd Missile Division, from the 374th Guards Tank Regiment (personnel also from the 166th Motorized-Rifle Regiment and the 330rd Fighter Aviation Division). Officially took over honours and awards from the 374th Guards Tank Regiment 4.4.61.

Organisation:

The first two battalions stood down 1.10.76 (eight R-12 pads), followed by the third battalion 25.2.78 (four R-12 silos).

The regiment went on alert duty 13.12.77 with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-K (15P645K) (SS-20) missiles.

The regiment stood down 1983, and converted to the RSD-10 Pioner-UTTKh (15P653) (SS-20) missile - alert duty from 1983 with 9 missiles.

The regiment stood down 1990, was transferred to the 49th Guards Missile Division, and converted to the RT-2PM (15P158) (SS-25) missile - alert duty from 1991 with 9 missiles.

The regiment stood down 13.8.93, was transferred to Kansk in 1994, and used to activate the 55th Guards Missile Regiment.

US designation 1960-1978: Postavy MRBM complex (Postavy 1 & 2, and Kozyany launch sites). Type II (pad) and IV (silo) sites.

Three alternative fixed field sites for the pad launchers, were set up at Sivtsy (55 09 33N, 26 52 36E), Bogatoye (54 57 32N, 26 28 30E) and Kobylnik (54 56 31N, 26 37 11E). All three were inactive by 1967, and the Sivtsy site only had two pads.
