Activated 6.60 at Tatarsk, Novosibirsk Oblast under the 213th Missile Brigade, and from 5.61 the 49th Guards Missile Division.

Construction of further sites with R-9A (SS-8) missiles at Omsk were abandoned in 1961, and the regiment was transferred to the Plesetsk test center in 1962 - under the 3rd Artillery Range Administration, and from 1963 the 53rd NIIP.

1963 with two battalions at 2 sites:

• site BSP-32 with 2 R-9A pads - alert duty from 15.12.64
• site BSP-31 with 2 R-9A pads - alert duty from 16.12.64

In March 1964 all battalions were upgraded to regiments:

• 1st Battalion remained as 329th Missile Regiment, with 2 R-9A pads (BSP-32)
• 2nd Battalion became 63rd Missile Regiment with 2 R-9A pads (BSP-31)

From 30.4.64 under the 1st Department, and from early 1968 the 5th Test Department.

The regiment stood down in 1969, and was disbanded (1969).
