Activated 1.5.59 in Vasilkov, Kiev Oblast, from the 317th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment.

Initially with 5 S-75 (SA-2) battalions, followed by 7 S-125 (SA-3) battalions in 1969 (probably including at least two mobilisation battalions).

Organisation 1960's:

During 1968 an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Group with 3 launch S-200 (SA-5) (from 1974 S-200V) battalions were added to the brigade:

One additional S-200V (SA-5) battalion were activated in 1973:

1985 began conversion to the S-300PS (SA-10) missile, with the first battalion operational in 1986:

1991 with 4 S-200V (SA-5), 7 S-300PS (SA-10) and 2 S-125 (SA-3) battalions.

Taken over by Ukraine 1.92.
