Activated 1953 in Lupanovo, Moscow Oblast - initially as the 1943rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment for Special Use and from 1955 as the 632nd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment for Special Use.

1953 to 1988 equipped with 60 S-25 (SA-1) launchers:

• Launch area: 56 10 00N, 37 23 48E (US designation: Moscow SAM site C35-1)
• Support area: 56 09 11N, 37 25 29E
• Guidance area: 56 08 44N, 37 24 21E

1988 converted to the S-300PT (from 1991: S-300PM) (SA-10), and was reduced to an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion of the 566th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
