Activated 1960 in Vilnius, Lithuanian SSR, as the 529th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, from the 529th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment.

Organisation 1960's:

1967 converted to the S-75M missile.

During 1970 an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Group with 3 launch S-200 (SA-5) battalions were added to the regiment:

1970's with 4 S-75M (SA-2) and 2 S-200V (SA-5) battalions.

1987 with the introduction of the S-300PS missile, the regiment was renamed 466th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.

Four S-300PS (SA-10) battalions were activated 1987-1988:

1987 took over two S-125M (SA-3) battalions from the disbanded 85th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.

1991 with 2 S-125M (SA-3 - mobilisation), 4 S-300PS (SA-10) and 2 S-200V (SA-5) battalions.

1993 withdrawn to Desnogorsk, Smolensk Oblast, united with the 493rd Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment and renamed 284th Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.

5.98 transferred to Pestovo, Moscow Oblast, and was absorbed by the 614th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
