Activated 8.59 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka, Kamchatka Oblast, as the 1097th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment, from the 1097th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment.

Initially with six S-75 (SA-2) battalions.

Organisation 1960:

2.3.61 renamed 191st Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, when an additional two S-125 (SA-3) battalions were activated.

1966 the S-75 was replaced by the S-75M (SA-2).

Two additional S-125 (SA-3) and one S-75M (SA-2) battalions were activated in 1968:

Organisation 1970:

In 1974 an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Group with 2 launch S-200 (SA-5) battalions was added to the brigade:

1975 with 13 Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalions (2 S-200, 4 S-125 and 7 S-75) and 3 Technical Battalions.

The first battalion re-equipped with the S-300PS (SA-10) missile in 2.89.

The S-75M3 (SA-2) were deactivated in 1990, followed by the S-125M1 (SA-3) battalions in 1994.

5.94 renamed 1532nd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.

The S-200V battalions were deactivated in 1998.
