Activated 1.10.67 in Moscow, Moscow Oblast, from the 4th independent Regiment for protection MD SSSR.

Tasked with protecting the CPSU Central Committee, Ministry of Defence and the General Staff buildings, and was organised into a HQ battalion, five rifle battalions, a training battalion and a communications battalion.

10.2.72 an armored platoon with 26 armored cars and 12 BTR-60PB was added to the brigade.

12.7.79 awarded the order of the Red Star.

Disbanded 2008, and was absorbed by the 27th independent Guards Motorised Rifle Brigade, as the 1st independent Rifle Regiment.

1.4.2013 named "Semenovskiy".
