Activated 1.84 in Ugolnye Kopi, Chukotskiy Autonomous Okrug, from the 23rd independent Motorised Rifle Brigade (activated 1975 from the 414th independent Motorised Rifle Regiment).

Motorised Rifle Division with a rather unusual configuration - four motorised rifle regiments, and most support units were companies instead of battalions. Each motorised rifle regiment were equipped with 30 T-54 and up to 100 MT-LB.

29.11.94 renamed 190th independent Motorised Rifle Brigade.

27.9.95 again renamed 99th Motorised Rifle Division.

1.6.99 renamed 3840th Weapons and Equipment Storage Base.

Disbanded 1.12.2002.
