Activated 1977 in Raukhovka, Odessa Oblast.
In 3.80 the 3rd squadron was transferred to Bagram, Afghanistan,
and was renamed 262nd independent Helicopter Squadron.
After 9.81 several independent Helicopter Regiments based in the Soviet
Union, would detach crews to serve in the 335th independent Helicopter Regiment
on a rotational basis, beginning from 1981 - usually for the duration of one
year.
Taken over by Ukraine 1.1.92.
