Formed 12.42 in Döberitz (initially as Fallschirm-Jäger-Bataillon Mattheas), and moved to southern Russia with 4 companies and one battery.

In 2.43 redesignated I./Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment 6, while the battery went to Flak-Regiment 32.

Served as Heerestruppe in South Russia (Donskoi, Stalino and Voroschilovgrad).
