Formed 9.10.44 from Fallschirm-Jäger-Division Erdmann, and initially operated the same units.
On 30.11.44 the division was organised as follows:

- Fallschirm-Granatwerfer-Abteilung 7, from 12.44
- Fallschirm-Feldersatz-Bataillon 7, from 2.45
Due to heavy losses, Luftwaffen-Festungs-Bataillone XXIV and XXVIII, was absorbed by the division on 20.2.45. The division capitulated to British forces in the Oldenburg area, in May 1945.
