Overview:

The Flughafenbetriebskompanie´s (FBK) primary duty was repair and service for all the aircraft of a specific unit. The FBK belonged to the various Gruppen of the heavier units, incl. Kampfgeschwader, Sturzkampfgeschwader, Zerstörergeschwader, and various reconnaissance and transport units.

Normally fully motorised, consisted of 150 men, and was divided into 4 platoons (züge) - 3 Betriebszüge and 1 Werkstattzug, and would normally follow the Gruppe around to the various bases.

Initially most Gruppen had 2 FBK's, but this was changed to one each, after 1.43.

2. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG30

Formed 10.1.43 in Comiso from 4. FBK-KG30.

Served with II./KG30 (1.43 - 5.45)

3. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG30

Formed 10.1.43 in Comiso from 1.FBK-KG51. In 6.44 redesignated 147. Flughafenbetriebskompanie (Qu).

Reformed 11.44 in Pardubitz.

Served with III./KG30 (1.43 - 6.44 and 11.44 - 5.45)

4. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG30

Formed 12.39 in Barth. On 10.1.43 redesignated 2.FBK-KG30.

Reformed 1.43 in Aalborg-West from 10.FBK-KG30. Disbanded 4.45.

Served with II./KG30 (12.39 - 1.43), and IV./KG30 (1.43 - 4.45)

7. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG30

Formed 1.40 in Barth from 2.FBK-ZG2. In 10.40 redesignated FBK-Ergänzungskampfgruppe Ju 88.

Reformed 10.40 in Amsterdam-Schiphol from 7.FBK-KG4. On 10.1.43 redesignated 111. Flughafenbetriebskompanie (Qu).

Served with III./KG30 (1.40 - 1.43)

8. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG30

Formed 10.40 in Amsterdam-Schiphol from 8.FBK-KG4. On 10.1.43 redesignated 106. Flughafenbetriebskompanie (Qu).

Served with III./KG30 (10.40 - 1.43)

10. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG30

Formed 11.40 in Ludwigslust. In 10.1.43 redesignated 4.FBK-KG30.

Served with IV./KG30 (11.40 - 1.43)
